Sources and editorial standards

Every technical parameter, limit value and piece of certification information on this site points to a source. Footnote numbers are shared across the whole site.

How we work with sources

  • Primary sources first: certification scheme documents, standards, legislation, official statistics and scientific publications.
  • Date of access for every source — standards and scheme documents change.
  • Verification status: where a specific value still needs to be confirmed (e.g. the standard is a paid document and we worked from a draft), we state this explicitly.
  • Original content: we do not copy texts — we write our own, based on the sources.
